a month agoFood was great. Meatball sub was a huge portion with amazing bread, fried mushroom app was yummy and not from a frozen bag. Fun atmosphere, clean and super friendly. We'll be back our next trip to Jacksonville. Oh, and Melinda was excellent.

2 months agoAlthough the food was good I believe Melinda needs a lesson in customer service . Although I do appreciate the “rules” of only serving scrambled eggs with no options for sunny side up or eggs over medium Melinda should have seen the situation for what it was . We were an 8 top all visiting for the first time , it was my mom’s birthday and her only request was to have her eggs over medium , the restaurant was not busy at the time . We asked her to make a simple exception explaining to her that my mom doesn’t like scrambled at all and Melinda even admitting she does have whole eggs at the restaurant she decided to stand her ground saying she doesn’t make the rules, maybe go ask the cook if he has a problem cooking 2 eggs instead? Although she might not make the rules Managers are the extension of the owners and have the ability to make a call on their own, the owners, I imagine would love to have happy, repeat customers that frequent the establishment. Instead here I am wasting my time writing this subpar review . The server never asked us for refills , never asked how we were enjoying the food . I wish I didn’t have this experience because I would have definitely been a regular customer . With infinite options in this area I don’t see myself coming back because of “2 eggs.” This is the ultimate example of how such a small request will go a long way in the end , an example that all owners should be aware of .

3 months agoCame here to give the server Andrea a huge shout out. My girlfriend and I visited today, Saturday during the lunch rush around 1. Andrea was the only server due to the other one leaving sick. At one point she was helping as many as 9 tables at once. Some people were grumpy and not understanding of the situation. She was very pleasant considering the situation along with her dealing with some not so nice people. We even offered to help her take drink orders due to her not having any help, but she declined. She was amazing. Now the food.. we both ordered the cheesesteaks and they were phenomenal. It was definitely worth the wait. We will definitely be back. Especially after seeing how hard Andrea worked and make what could of been a disastrous first visit, to a great visit with all things considered!

3 months agoI stopped in on the way back to SC and decided to give them a try. It was around 2 on Saturday and they were slammed. I got the Italian Togo and this thing was absolutely massive. The cheesesteak is apparently really good as well but the kitchen was backed up so the Italian was faster. You can easily split this sandwich or share with someone. It had tons of meat and veggies, all of which seemed fresh. If you’re dining in, be patient if they’re busy. It will be worth it. The poor server was flustered and running around like crazy but the kitchen was knocking food out pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend them.

4 months agoI found out about this place from a Facebook postcl claiming they have the best philly cheese steak in central Florida and my wife loves her a good philly. They are only about 45 minutes from home and I decided to take the drive. Feom the outside, the place shows its age a bit, as everything else in the Citra area. Once you walk through the doors however, you are met with a classic diner experience. The staff is kind and welcoming and was excited to hear how far we drive just to try their philly. There was a 20 person party filling up the main dining area, so we got a table in the side room with the pool tables, air hockey table and dart board. We looked over the menu to see if there was anything else we had to try as well and the side of the menu blew us away for such a small diner. We placed an order for sweet teas and had our food options chosen by the time the drinks arrived. We were warned of the extended wait time due to the large party, but we didn't mind as we chose to play pool while we waited. We ordered a classic philly and the Hawaiian chicken sandwhich, as my wife just had to try it. Despit3 how busy the diner was, the server still gave us plenty of attention and made sure our drinks stayed full and checked in on us often, which in itself, was quite surprising. I was wondering what made them so proud of their cheese steaks and got the answers i was looking for. One of the ladies in charge is from south philly, which means she has the experience needed to make a proper chease steak. But also, they import in Cooper Sharp cheese from Philadelphia. This is the truest philly i have had outside of the Philadelphia region of PA. At this point, i agree with the claim that this tiny diner that most non locals have never heard of, makes the best philly in central Florida. The Hawaiian chicken sandwich was also very noteworthy, the pineapple and chicken combo is always a win, but the house made honey mustard that went on it, truly brought it together. We also enjoyed the best chilli cheese fried that either of us have ever eaten, the house made chilli is delicious! We are looking forward to our mext visit and am planning a group event with some friends that will bring us back soon. Thank you Flyers Cafebstaff for making us feel welcomed and appreciated. Sadly, i just realized that the photo i took of the perfect philly wasn't saved and am thoroughly disappointed by that.

4 months agoA great place for breakfast or lunch. Their Philly cheese steak is to die for! Best I've had outside of Philly. I don't order mine traditional... I order mine loaded with onion's, green peppers and mushrooms. The Italian Hoagie is wonderful as well. My wife loves their Reuben sandwich.

4 months agoFood was the best! Had their special meatloaf! Excellent, a little spicy but that's what I like! Philly steak sandwich also excellent. Service excellent! If your in Citra highly recommend!

7 months ago⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stopped by for lunch and absolutely loved it! I had the coffee-rub ribeye fresh , juicy, and packed with flavor. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The renovations look fantastic and give the place an even inviting atmosphere, and the new pool tables are a great touch. Super food, service and atmosphere….a true hidden gem in Citra!
